Peeking through memories
Lying in wait
My life jumps out 
With a yelp
I’m rattled by the clatter
Startled by the noise
How did it get there?
And when?
The reality I imagined
So very long ago
And yesterday
Is suddenly and shockingly
Dancing before me
Forcing me to see
The life I knew was coming
And now
It’s here
